Water-Wise Gardening Class April 26
Using a drip irrigation method to water the garden this summer can help save money on water bills and improve the health of plants. To help Yolo County residents with this, the Hanna & Herbert Bauer Memorial Community Garden is hosting a free drip irrigation class for the backyard gardener on Wednesday, April 26, from 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
This interactive class will be taught by David Linebarger, the garden manager, and will teach participants about the tools needed to set up a simple drip system, how drip irrigation can produce more crops and different strategies for setting up a drip system. Attendees will also receive a free Champions for Change cookbook.
Pre-registration by April 25 is required for the class. To register, contact David Linebarger at (530) 666-8429 or email@example.com. The garden is located at 137 N. Cottonwood Street in Woodland, behind the Yolo County Health & Human Services Agency Bauer Building. Please dress for cool weather and wear shoes that can get dirty. In the event of steady rain, the class will be cancelled.
This class is part of the Yolo County Health & Human Services Agency’s commitment to providing education and resources that help residents eat fresh fruits and vegetables and live healthier lives. Free gardening classes are offered throughout the year at the community garden. To learn more about garden activities and classes, visit: www.yolocounty.org/garden.
