Drought-Friendly Workshop

West Sacramento, CA (MPG) - The City of West Sacramento and EcoLandscape California are presenting two workshops to help homeowners make their yards drought-friendly.

In workshop one, learn how to identify the right plants and best placement, convert or upgrade sprinkler systems, and properly place emitters to protect your investment. The workshop is called WaterSmart Irrigation: Getting the Best Yard with the Least Water. The registration deadline is Wednesday, September 30th at 5 p.m. The date of the workshop is October 3rd from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

In workshop two, called WaterSmart Gardens: Converting Thirsty Lawns to Beautiful Beds, you’ll learn how to remove your lawn, implement water-smart irrigation techniques and devices, convert traditional sprinklers to low-volume drip irrigation, build a living “soil sponge,” and identify the right plants and best placement. The registration deadline for the second workshop is Wednesday, October 21st, 5 p.m. The date of the workshop is October 24th 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Both workshops will take place at West Sacramento Community Center, 1075 West Capitol Ave., West Sacramento 95691.
