Virtual Author Visit with Andy Weir

Nov 04, 2015 12:00AM ● By Source: Yolo County

Come join the Yolo County Library for a virtual discussion with Andy Weir, author of “The Martian,” on November 10th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Blanchard Room of the Mary L. Stephens Davis Branch Library, located at 315 E. 14th Street in Davis.

Born and raised in Davis, bestselling author Andy Weir will talk about his first published novel, “The Martian,” which was adapted for the screen and is currently showing in theatres. Andy Weir began working as a programmer for Sandia National Laboratories when he was 15 years old and has been working as a software engineer ever since. He is a lifelong “space nerd” and a devoted hobbyist of subjects such as relativistic physics, orbital mechanics, and the history of manned spaceflight.

This virtual discussion is made possible through an initiative with Library Talks that is able to bring authors to California libraries through shared video conferencing. Readers and enthusiasts are welcome to attend. This event is free and no reservations are required.
