Yolobus to Change Scheduled Bus Trips to Cache Creek Casino Resort

WOODLAND, CA – Starting Monday, February 1, 2021, Yolobus will be running 12 round trips per day between Woodland, Madison, Esparto, Capay and Cache Creek Casino Resort, rather than 17 round trips per day. The new schedule will be followed 7 days a week. Yolobus is public bus service overseen by the Yolo County Transportation District (YCTD) and operated by Transdev Services, Incorporated, the District’s contractor.
The Casino requested financial relief because Route 215 daily ridership is currently down to around 60% of pre-COVID-19 levels. “When the 17 round trips per day were initiated in 2008, no one anticipated COVID-19 and the devastating effects it would have on transit ridership,” said Jesse Loren, Chair of the YCTD Board of Directors. “So, we have been working hard with the Casino in responding to that request,” said Loren.
Staff from the Casino and YCTD developed the service revision, which reduces the number of Route 215 round trips between Woodland and Cache Creek Casino Resort by five (5) round trips a day. That route serves Woodland, Madison, Esparto, Capay and Cache Creek Casino Resort. “Both the Casino and YCTD staff jointly reviewed ridership levels of existing service and agreed on a service level which provides Page 2 of 3 financial relief to the Casino, while still serving the majority of existing riders,” said Ron Vargas, Vice President of Human Resources of Cache Creek Casino Resort.
