“Full approval could not come at a more critical juncture" 

WASHINGTON, D.C. (MPG) - Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-06) issued the following statement after the FDA announced full approval of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine.

“Vaccination remains the best tool we have to save lives and end the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Congresswoman Matsui. “The FDA’s full approval of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is a crucial step forward to affirm what health care providers and public health experts have long known – the vaccine is safe and effective. Full approval is the culmination of intense scrutiny and a rigorous review process, and the FDA has never had more real-world evidence to inform this decision.”

“Full approval could not come at a more critical juncture,” Matsui continued. “As the Delta variant continues to infect Americans and drive up caseloads and hospitalizations across the country, we are in a race against time. Millions of Americans have already received COVID-19 vaccines, yet we must continue to increase vaccination rates to change the course of this pandemic.
