WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - On 10/26/2021, at 6:22pm, officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Orchard Way for a report of a shooting and a male subject down.

Upon arrival, Officers located a male subject who sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was unresponsive. Officers quickly secured the scene and immediately rendered medical aid to the victim. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

West Sacramento Detectives were called out to the scene and took over the investigation. Through their investigation, they identified the suspect as 27 year old Ernesto Gonzalez, who resides in West Sacramento.

On 10/27/21 at approximately 7:15am, Gonzalez was arrested leaving a residence in West Sacramento and transported to Yolo County Jail where he was booked on multiple felony charges, including murder.

The name of the victim will be released by the coroner’s office, once next of kin has been notified.
