WOODLAND, CA (MPG) – On July 14, 2022, a 75-year-old former resident of West Sacramento, David John Sidhu, was sentenced in a Yolo County Courtroom, to 196 years in prison, by Judge Timothy L. Fall.

On June 2, 2022, Sidhu had been convicted by a Yolo County jury of 28 acts of child molestation. Mr. Sidhu committed the acts over a seven-year period, beginning when the victim was age five and continuing the molestation until the victim was age twelve.

The molestation was reported to law enforcement fifteen years after it had ended. Detective Andrea King with the West Sacramento Police Department completed the investigation, and the case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Frits van der Hoek.

Mr. Sidhu had been facing a maximum possible sentence of 224 years in prison.

District Attorney Jeff Reisig commented. “This type of offender represents the worst of the worst in Yolo County. My office will continue prosecute these offenders to the full extent of the law, no matter how much time passes. We will continue to seek justice for victims and to keep the community safe from these violent sexual offenders.”
