WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - Yolo County Children’s Alliance (YCCA) will be hosting their 17th annual Community Giveaway Day this year on Saturday, November 19. Community Giveaway Day is always held the Saturday before Thanksgiving. At this event families receive free blankets, coats, diapers, family resources, COVID vaccines and of course all the fixin’s for Thanksgiving dinner! The blankets and coats are all brand new and they have coats in all sizes.

This drive-thru event will go from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and will take place at the Yolo County Children’s Alliance Resource Center, located at 1200 Anna Street, West Sacramento. It is a free event… meaning everything that you receive is free. It is first come, first served and for this reason, people start lining up very early in the morning, or even the night before.

There is no pre-registration required. To receive food, you must show up on November 19, 2022. You are required to show proof that you are a West Sacramento resident. This can be by use of a driver’s license or ID, a utility bill, a Medi-Cal card, etc. You can bring other mail with your name on it, but if it’s not a utility bill, bring more than one piece and they cannot all be handwritten.

Yolo County Children’s Alliance has been serving families since 2002 and is the place to go when you need help! They are staffed by people that have needed help and know what it’s like. They welcome you and never make you feel embarrassed! The wide variety of services that they can help with are as extensive as the list of things that people need help with.
