YOLO COUNTY, CA (MPG) - What: “Yolo Gives and Gathers” Thanksgiving Holiday Food Distribution for Yolo County residents.

Who: Yolo Food Bank and nonprofit partners.

When: Saturday, November 19, 2022, 9:00 a.m. for Woodland residents only at Yolo County Fairgrounds (distributions for other Yolo County communities will occur November 15-19, 2022; please see details below). Media are invited to attend the Woodland distribution. RSVP to Maria Segoviano (contact information at top), or to arrange an advance interview with staff.

Where: 1250 Gum Avenue, Woodland, CA (Contactless, drive-through distribution with walk-up option, first-come, first-served. See details below under “Woodland.”) Information readily available at https://yolofb.org/holidayfood2022.

Why: The holiday season is a financially stressful time for many vulnerable populations. Demand for food assistance has increased nearly 15% across Yolo Food Bank’s distributions. Yolo Food Bank and its nonprofit partners are distributing more than 2,300 meal kits to families in every community in the county this Thanksgiving. Thanks to the support of compassionate individuals who have been giving to the “Yolo Gives and Gathers” campaign (ongoing at http://yolofb.org/ygg2022), families will be able to gather and break bread with loved ones. Throughout the week of November 15-19, meal kits will be distributed from 11 locations countywide – serving both cities and rural communities – in the days prior to Thanksgiving. Each meal kit will include a turkey, a variety of fresh, seasonal produce, and other ingredients to complete a classic Thanksgiving meal.

To be eligible for a meal kit, individuals must: Be a resident of Yolo County. Where required, pre-register for a meal kit in area of residence. Otherwise, meal kits are available while supplies last. When required, provide proof of address – this may include a driver license, state I.D. card, or a bill or other mail sent to a Yolo County address.
