Little League Opening Day CANCELED due to Weather

WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - West Sac Little League is celebrating being a chartered league for 70 years upon the commencement of the 2023 season, and they plan on doing it up big. The league was chartered in 1953, and the current board would like to invite all previous West Sac Little League and Washington Little League ball players to attend the Opening Day Parade scheduled for March 11, 2023.
The parade will go down Park Blvd. and a special VIP section will be set up for any players who played in either league in the 1950-60s to watch the parade. The VIP section will be set up at the Trinity Presbyterian Church on the corner of 15th Street and Park Blvd. It’s not just the ‘old timers’ who are invited to attend, however. The league would like to extend the invitation to anyone who has played or coached for either league, as well as those who just love America’s pastime!
The league is expecting a visit from Russ Dunsmore, who played in West Sac Little League in 1955. This photo has been submitted from the 1955 season and they are looking for the names of the additional players. Please notify the league if you recognize any of these players.
Rob Dodd will be throwing out the first pitch. It’s sure to be an exciting day when electricity will be filling the air!
West Sac Little League is building a gallery of photos on their website and would like anyone with WSLL or Washington Little League photos (from any year) to email them to [email protected] so they can be posted in their Baseball Gallery. If you are unable to email the photos, they welcome you to bring them to the parade. Please include the name of the player, the team they played on and the year(s) they played. Please submit them by March 3rd to ensure them being posted by Opening Day 2023.
