New Supervisor Sworn In

WOODLAND, CA (MPG) - The Yolo County Board of Supervisors is pleased to
announce the formal swearing-in of Dr. Mary Vixie Sandy as Yolo County's 3rd
District Supervisor on Monday, October 23, 2023 at the Yolo County
Administration Building Atrium. Dr. Vixie Sandy was appointed by Governor
Newsom on October 5th to her late husband's, Gary Sandy, District 3 seat.
Supervisor Vixie Sandy is the first woman to serve on the Board of Supervisors since 2011 and the first woman to represent the residents of the 3rd District. “I am tremendously honored and privileged to serve the communities of Woodland, Bryte, and Broderick,” said Dr. Vixie Sandy. “I am ready and excited to take on the needs and concerns of my district and will be accessible and responsive to all the residents of Yolo County.”
“On behalf of the Yolo County Board of Supervisors, we are delighted to welcome Supervisor Vixie Sandy to serve on the Board. It is evident that she is shovel-ready to embrace the challenges of governance through her unique servant leadership lens,” said Chair of the Yolo County Board of Supervisors, Oscar Villegas.
Community members met with Supervisor Vixie Sandy and welcomed her to her new role.
