SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - On Dec. 12, X Games announced a new three-year partnership with California Dreamin’ Entertainment which will bring the renowned actions sports and music festival to Cal Expo in Sacramento each summer from 2025-2027.

California Dreamin' Entertainment is re-imagining the former Raging Waters site at the Cal Expo/California State Fairgrounds in Sacramento and is leading the city's partnership with X Games. X Games Sacramento 2025 will bring three days of action sports culture and competitions to the capital city from Aug. 22 through Aug. 24 and will mark the 30th anniversary celebration of X Games.

“Some of the biggest moments in X Games history took place in the San Francisco Bay,” said Jeremy Bloom, CEO of X Games. “Twenty-five years later, we’re thrilled to bring X Games back to Northern California to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the brand.”

With the support of Cal Expo and Visit Sacramento, X Games and California Dreamin’ Entertainment are committed to making X Games Sacramento in 2025, 2026 and 2027 the ultimate showcase for action sports and action sports culture, with more competition, more music and more excitement.

X Games Sacramento will include skateboarding, BMX and Moto X and will host more than 100 of the best action sports athletes who will compete for over $1 million in prize money. In addition, it will feature a full lineup of amazing music appearances to be announced in the coming months.

The 30th anniversary of X Games also marks the countdown to X Games League, the brand’s new global team-based format, set to kick off in 2026. As part of the new partnership between X Games and California Dreamin’ Entertainment, Sacramento is the first event location to be announced as a host for X Games League.

“I grew up right outside of Sacramento, so this really is a dream come true for me,” said Bryce Tryon, five-time X Games BMX athlete, in a press conference Dec. 12. “X Games has always been a huge part of my life, so I’m stoked to feel like I’m playing host to a competition that has given me so much over the years and show my hometown the best that action sports have to offer.”

General admission and premium tickets will be available soon for X Games Sacramento. More details about tickets and X Games Sacramento 2025 and the three-year partnership with California Dreamin’ Entertainment, Visit Sacramento and Cal Expo will be forthcoming.
