WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - Located at 3340 Jefferson Blvd. and open seven days a week, West Sac Sports Bar and Grill’s new owners celebrated its ribbon cutting with the West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce on Sept. 25 after officially reopening on June 5.

The establishment’s owners, Barbara and Rick Morris, said that they are new to the restaurant business but are no strangers to owning a business in West Sacramento. They also own Nor-Cal Towing and Transport, operating out of West Sacramento, Sacramento, North Highlands and Davis, according to the company’s website.

“We’re excited. We love the community,” Barbara Morris said. “We love everybody that comes in. We’re trying new things. We’ve got a deejay every Friday, karaoke on Saturday, trivia on Saturday, specials daily.”

More than 25 patrons were at the bar and grill’s ribbon-cutting event. West Sac resident Candy Z. said that she has been eating at the establishment regularly due to renovations taking place at her home.

“Tonight is tacos,” the resident said. “I’ll be back for the tacos. I’m only here to support them for this because I want them to be very successful. Everybody should give it a try.”

She said that the bar and grill “is a family-oriented place where customers can feel comfortable bringing their kids after a sporting event,” whether it’s after playing Little League or to watch the major leagues.

Bartender Kyrie Bell, a Carmichael resident, said that children are allowed in the establishment before 9 p.m. and that new TVs, new pool tables and arcade games make that space fun for all ages. Bell said he has known the Morris family for several years and that he has worked in West Sacramento since 2015.

“I love the support,” Bell said. “I love the family-oriented neighborhood here. Everybody has been very welcoming, even though I’m not from West Sac originally.”

The West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce posted a celebratory message on its Facebook page, saying “Congratulations to our new member, West Sac Sports Bar & Grill on their ribbon cutting ceremony! Swing by and meet the new owners, have some delicious food, and an ice-cold beer!”

Patrons visiting West Sac Sports Bar and Grill can expect to see sports memorabilia from the San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Athletics, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers and more. The establishment also features outdoor patio seating and is open daily from 8 a.m. to midnight.
