Freshmen Lead the Way for Women's Golf

SACRAMENTO REGION, CA (MPG) - The California State University, Sacramento women's golf team will enter the final round of the final round of the Golfweek Red Sky Classic in 13th place after shooting 303 during the second round on Sept. 23 in Wolcott, Colorado.
 
The top two scores on the team belonged to a pair of freshmen as 
Jocelyn Tseng shot 74 and Sophia Lee 75.

Tseng was even through the front nine bogeys on numbers 1 and 4 followed by birdies on numbers 5 and 9. Tseng had seven pars and a pair of bogeys on the back side of the course to complete her round at 2-over par.

Lee started her round with a bogey before six consecutive pars. She remained at 1-over through 10 holes after sandwiching birdies on Nos. 9 and 10 inside a pair of bogeys. Lee closed her round with six pars and two bogeys to get to 3-over.
 
Ella Kraft (76) and Darla May Dela Torre (78) completed the team total. Kraft led the team with three birdies in the round but also had a pair of bogeys, a double bogey and a triple bogey. Dela Torre finished with a birdie, five bogeys and a double bogey.
