WOODLAND, CA (MPG) - Yolo County’s Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) proudly announces the 14th Annual Human Milk Drive to be held on Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 600 A St. in Davis.

This year's event celebrates November as National Prematurity Awareness Month and represents a collaborative effort between Yolo County’s Health and Human Services Agency, the Yolo County Breastfeeding Coalition, local health organizations, hospitals and community partners. The drives’ mission is to ensure that every infant has access to the optimal nutrition that breast milk provides.

Donated milk plays a vital role in saving and improving the lives of medically fragile infants. Donors are carefully screened before contributing surplus breast milk. Each donation undergoes a rigorous pasteurization process, testing, and quality assurance to ensure safety and effectiveness. The milk is then distributed to NICUs, hospitals, and families nationwide, supporting infants who need it most. The milk drive benefits Mothers’ Milk Bank California (MMBCA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization accredited by the Human Milk Banking Association of North America.
