SACRAMENTO REGION, CA (MPG) - Recently, the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber Political Action Committee (Metro PAC) announced its official endorsement of Doris Matsui for California’s 7th Congressional District Seat.
“Congresswoman Doris Matsui has a proven record of fighting for Sacramento – strengthening our levees, improving our roads and building the connections our region needs to protect communities and drive economic growth,” said Sacramento Metro Chamber President & CEO and Metro Political Action Committee Board Director Robert Heidt.
“The Metro Political Action Committee leads with a collective voice endorsing candidates who align with the policy principles of the Metro Chamber. This endorsement reflects our commitment to support candidates at the highest level of government who have the experience and influence to lead our region on economic issues.”
Matsui has represented the City of Sacramento and its surrounding areas since 2005. During her time in Congress, she has been a steadfast and passionate advocate for the Capital City. Matsui secured over $4 billion in investment to protect communities through local flood protection, including $1 billion for the Folsom Dam project, which became a model for the nation on cooperation and efficiency.
As Ranking Member of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, Congresswoman Matsui is a national leader on technology and innovation policy. She authored the CHIPS for America Act, legislation that invested $52 billion to reassert American leadership in the strategically important semiconductor industry.
In addition, the Metro Political Action Committee announced its early endorsement of Eric Guerra for Sacramento County Supervisor, District 1. Guerra, who currently sits on the Sacramento City Council, announced his run for the seat, which has been held by Phil Serna since 2010.
“Leading with a collective voice means acting early and with purpose. As such, the Metro PAC is honored to announce our early endorsement of Eric Guerra for Sacramento County Supervisor,” said Heidt. “Sacramento County District 1 represents the central city—the economic engine that drives business activity, job creation, and growth across the entire region. Guerra understands that what happens in the core impacts every community beyond it. Eric Guerra will drive economic growth and strengthen public safety through smart, accountable policies that support business investment, along with safe and connected neighborhoods.”
