UC Master Gardener Gives Class on Fruit Tree Care

WOODLAND, CA (MPG) - Yolo County residents are invited to learn the basics of fruit tree care, interactive class led by UC Master Gardener Bonnie Berman on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Health and Human Services Agency’s (HHSA) Bauer Building in Woodland.
Presented by the Health and Human Services Agency, this class will cover fruit tree pruning, common fruit tree pests and how to control them, as well as tips on how to improve the lifespan of your fruit trees. Winter is the ideal time to care for your fruit trees to support healthy growth and productivity.
This class is open to all and is part of Health and Human Service Agency’s commitment to providing education that supports healthy eating and active lifestyles. Pre-registration is required by Friday, Jan. 30. To register, contact Nick Gazda at [email protected] or at (530) 666-8429.
The Bauer Building is located at 137 N. Cottonwood Street in Woodland, next to the Health and Human Services Agency and Herber Bauer Memorial Community Garden. Due to weather, the class will be held indoors in the Walker and Thompson conference rooms. A free, informal garden and orchard tour with a Q&A discussion will commence following the class, weather permitting.
