Aggies Excel in Fall Academic Performance

DAVIS, CA (MPG) – UC Davis student-athletes continued to excel in the classroom, recording a 3.29 cumulative GPA for the quarter and improving on the previous fall quarter's results.

Aggie women recorded a combined GPA of 3.43, with the men finishing the quarter at 3.06.

Academic success extended across the department, as 80 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.00 quarterly GPA, representing 12.5 percent of all student-athletes. Additionally, 283 Aggies (44.22 percent) posted a GPA of 3.50 or higher, while 455 student-athletes (71.09 percent) finished the quarter with a GPA of 3.00 or better.

Several programs recorded historic marks. Women's golf posted the highest overall team GPA at 3.94, the highest in program history. On the men's side, men's basketball led the way with a 3.34 GPA, ranking among the top men's team GPAs in UC Davis history.

Aggie Notes

Men's baseball tied its second-highest team GPA with a 3.10. Football posted the second-highest team GPA in program history at 3.11. Women's basketball recorded the program's fifth-highest team GPA with a 3.37. Women's field hockey achieved the highest team GPA in program history with a 3.59.

Women's tennis earned the program's second-highest team GPA at 3.66. Women's volleyball posted the third-highest team GPA in program history with a 3.62.Women's water polo recorded the highest team GPA in program history with a 3.62.

As of the spring quarter, UC Davis student-athletes are enrolled in: 19 majors in the College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences; 8 majors in the College of Biological Sciences; 9 majors in the College of Engineering; 29 majors in the College of Letters & Science; 14 student-athletes declared in the Business major through the Graduate School of Management; 15 student-athletes pursuing double majors; 23 student-athletes enrolled in graduate studies.

The 23 student-athletes currently competing while enrolled in graduate school are pursuing degrees in: Master of Science in Computer Science; Master of Business Administration (Graduate School of Management); Master of Management (Graduate School of Management).
