Spanish-Language Financial Education Workshop Series

WOODLAND, CA (MPG) – Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency’s (HHSA) YoloWorks!, in partnership with BMO Bank, is pleased to offer a free Spanish-language financial education workshop series designed to help individuals and families better manage their money and build long-term financial stability.
The workshops are running now through Thursday, Sept. 3 and will be held twice a month on the first and third Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency Building Community Room at 25 N. Cottonwood St. in Woodland.
These sessions provide practical, easy-to-understand guidance on everyday financial topics that impact working families. Participants will gain tools to improve budgeting, manage debt, protect their credit and prepare for major life expenses.
Workshop topics will include banking basics, budgeting and debt management, credit scores and credit reports, identity theft protection, retirement planning, mobile banking, buying a car, preparing to purchase a home, understanding mortgages, mortgage modification options, workplace investing, financial emergency preparedness, planning for higher education costs and more.
“Financial knowledge is power,” said Rodrigo Lopez from YoloWorks!. “These workshops are about giving our community the information and confidence they need in their language to make strong financial decisions for themselves and their families.”
All classes are free and conducted entirely in Spanish, making them accessible to Spanish-speaking residents throughout Yolo County. Community members are encouraged to register and attend as many sessions as possible during the series.
