WOODLAND, CA (MPG) -- This April marks the 15th anniversary of Yolo County Library’s annual celebration of Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros (Children’s Day/Book Day). Children and their families are invited to join Yolo County Library to celebrate this special event honoring young readers and families throughout the community.
Every child will receive a free “keeper” book, and each library location will host crafts, activities and a special performance.
County Librarian and Chief Archivist Diana Lopez invites all Yolo County residents to attend.
“Día is a highlight we eagerly anticipate each year,” said County Librarian Diana Lopez. “Although our dedication to celebrating kids, families, and literacy is year-round, Día offers a special chance to host grand, exciting programs designed to encourage children’s learning and growth by immersing them in a wide array of books and cultures. The Yolo County Library team has once again prepared joyful and engaging events that guarantee a wonderful time!”
Many nations throughout the world celebrate Día de los Niños in the spring to honor children, who represent the hopes and dreams of every community. Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros builds on this tradition by highlighting the importance of literacy for children from all backgrounds while encouraging libraries and community organizations to inspire and empower the next generation. The event connects children and their families with diverse books, languages and cultures.
