YOLO COUNTY, CA (MPG) – Democratic congressional candidate Eric Jones announced the endorsement of Indivisible Yolo, a Democratic grassroots organization known for its advocacy on protecting democracy, activating citizens to participate in government and holding elected officials accountable.
The endorsement represents an important show of support from one of the region’s most active Democratic grassroots groups and underscores the growing coalition of activists and community leaders rallying behind Jones’ campaign to represent California’s 4th Congressional District.
Jones welcomed the endorsement, highlighting the importance of grassroots organizing and independence from special-interest influence.
“Indivisible Yolo represents the energy and commitment of everyday people who are stepping up to defend our democracy and demand a government that works for the public, not for special interests,” said Jones. “At a time when voters are frustrated by the influence of PAC money and a political system that too often protects the status quo, I’m proud to have the support of a grassroots Democratic organization that believes our government should answer to the people.”
Indivisible Yolo is part of the national Indivisible movement, a network of local groups formed to organize communities in defense of democratic institutions. The endorsement adds to the growing momentum behind Jones’ campaign as he continues meeting with voters, community leaders and grassroots organizations throughout the district.
California’s 4th Congressional District stretches from Napa and Sonoma counties through parts of Lake, Yuba, Sutter, Yolo, and Solano counties and into Placer and Sacramento counties, including the communities of Napa, Davis, Woodland, Petaluma, Lincoln and Marysville.
