WOODLAND, CA (MPG) - The Yolo County Board of Supervisors has recognized August 2026 as Child Support Awareness Month, honoring the work of the Colusa Sutter Yolo Regional Child Support Agency and highlighting the role child support services play in helping children and families thrive.

“Strong families are the foundation of strong communities,” said Sheila Allen, chair of the Yolo County Board of Supervisors. “The Regional Child Support Agency helps parents meet their responsibilities, find support and build greater stability for their children. We are proud to recognize the staff who carry out this important work each day.”

The Colusa Sutter Yolo Regional Child Support Agency works with parents to establish parentage, establish and modify child support orders, facilitate payments and connect families with programs and resources that support long-term stability.

These services help parents understand and meet their support obligations while reducing financial hardship and helping children receive the resources they need. The agency provides accessible, compassionate and equitable support to families throughout the region.

This year’s Child Support Awareness Month campaign carries the message, “You’re there for them. We are here for you.” The theme reflects the agency’s role as a partner and resource for parents as they work to support their children.

“Parents want to be there for their children, and our role is to help them along the way,” said Natalie Dillon, Director of the Colusa Sutter Yolo Regional Child Support Agency. “Our team educates parents, utilizes practical tools and helps parents navigate the child support process to build a more stable future for their families.”

The Board adopted a resolution recognizing Child Support Awareness Month at its July 21 meeting. The resolution also honors the dedicated staff of the Colusa Sutter Yolo Regional Child Support Agency and encourages residents to support efforts that strengthen families throughout the community.
