WOODLAND, CA (MPG) - The Yolo County Elections Office announces that the candidate nomination filing period for November 3, 2026, General Election opened July 13, 2026.

Individuals wishing to run for eligible federal, state, legislative, county, and local offices must file nomination documents during the official filing period. Candidates have until 5 p.m. on Aug. 7 to collect nomination signatures (for city offices only) and file their Declaration of Candidacy and candidate statement of qualifications (if applicable) with the Yolo County Elections Office, 625 Court Street, Suite B05, Woodland or the appropriate city clerk office for city offices.

Candidate statements of qualification and applicable candidate statement fees are due at the time nomination documents are filed. The estimated fees for candidate statements are available at https://elections.yolocounty.gov/405/Estimated-Cost-of-Candidate-Statement-of.

Candidates are encouraged to contact the Elections Office or their city clerk office early to review filing requirements and schedule appointments to obtain and file their nomination documents. Yolo County Elections Office’s online scheduling appointment system is available at https://elections.yolocounty.gov/scheduling to schedule with the Elections Office.

If an eligible incumbent does not file by the deadline, the filing period for that office extends from Aug. 8 through 5 p.m. on Aug. 12, during which candidates other than the incumbent may file.
