WOODLAND, CA (MPG) - Families can now check out Ages & Stages Questionnaires® (ASQ®) kits at every Yolo County Library branch to learn more about their child’s development.

Designed for children from birth through age five, ASQ kits include questionnaires and hands-on materials that help parents and caregivers track developmental milestones in areas such as communication, motor skills, problem-solving, and social-emotional development.

The kits can help families better understand their child’s developmental strengths and milestones and recognize areas where they may want more information or support. ASQ is a developmental screening tool and is not used to diagnose developmental conditions.

The kits are also available for childcare and early learning providers. Each kit brings the screening materials together in one place, making it easier for providers to use the questionnaires and activities with children and families.

Every Yolo County Library branch has an ASQ kit available, along with copies of the questionnaires. Library staff can also connect families with local resources, including First 5 Yolo’s Help Me Grow Yolo child development specialists and partner network for additional information, support, and referrals.
