WOODLAND, CA (MPG) - Yolo County's Office of Emergency Services will conduct a countywide test of the Alert Yolo emergency notification system at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 26. The test will help confirm the system's readiness to deliver important information to residents during emergencies as the County prepares for the upcoming winter season.
Alert Yolo is an emergency notification system used by Yolo County and local public safety agencies to share timely information about emergencies, including severe weather, flooding, wildfires and evacuations. The system can deliver alerts by text message, phone call and email, using the contact information residents provide when they register.
Residents who have already signed up for Alert Yolo are encouraged to review their accounts and make sure their phone numbers, email addresses and other contact information are current. Those who have not registered can sign up at AlertYolo.org.
Monday's test will be sent to registered Alert Yolo users through selected contact methods. The message will be clearly identified as a test and will not require residents to take emergency action.
The Alert Yolo test is part of Yolo County's preparations for the 2026–27 winter season. The County's Ready Before It Rains resource brings together information about how Yolo County is preparing for winter weather and provides residents with tools and resources to prepare their homes, households and property before storms arrive.
