Questions or Missing Tax Bills
Under California law, failure to receive a property tax bill does not relieve a property owner of responsibility for payment or any resulting penalties. Property owners who have not received a tax bill should contact the Yolo County Tax Collector's Office as soon as possible at 530-666-8625 or [email protected].
Property taxes help fund local governments and public agencies, including schools, cities, the County, community colleges, rural fire districts and cemetery districts. More than half of property tax revenue supports local schools, while rural fire districts rely on property taxes for more than 90 percent of their annual funding. Yolo County receives about 9 percent of total property tax revenue, or approximately 9 cents of every dollar paid.
