WOODLAND, CA (MPG) - The Yolo County Board of Supervisors is seeking applications for four openings on its Community Services Action Board (CSAB).

The Board of Supervisors currently has four vacancies to fill including two low-income population representatives (applicants must either meet the low-income eligibility criteria or work for an organization that serves the low-income population).

The board also seeks one private organization representative, an individual representing a private organization that operates in Yolo County such as a private social service agency, private educational institution, business or religious organization. Applicants must submit a letter of nomination from the organization they represent.

The board is also seeking one District 4 representative who will be appointed by Supervisor Sheila Allen.

Established under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, the CSAB serves as the region's Community Action Agency with a mission to combat poverty throughout Yolo County and promote the health and safety of low-income residents.

The CSAB serves as an advisory body to the Yolo County Board of Supervisors. Its responsibilities include evaluating local efforts to combat poverty, conducting a biennial Community Needs Assessment to identify gaps in services and overseeing programs funded by the Community Services Block Grant. The CSAB reviews project outcomes and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors.

The CSAB meets on the second Wednesday of every month from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at rotating locations in Davis, West Sacramento and Woodland.

Those interested in serving can apply online at www.YoloCounty.gov/government/board-of-supervisors/advisory-bodies. Applications may also be printed and submitted to the Yolo County Board of Supervisors’ Office at 625 Court St., Room 204, Woodland.

A map of the supervisorial districts is available on the Yolo County Board of Supervisors website at www.yolocounty.gov/government/board-of-supervisors.
